About London Debt Collectors

A measured firm, built for matters that need careful hands.

We help London businesses and individuals recover what they're owed — effectively, professionally, and without theatre.

Established in London. London Debt Collectors was founded by senior credit and collections practitioners to offer SMEs, landlords, professional services firms and consumer-credit lenders a calmer, more effective alternative to high-pressure recovery. We act on commercial and regulated consumer matters across the UK and, by partnership, internationally.

Mission & values

What we hold ourselves to.

Integrity & compliance

We treat regulation as the foundation, not the ceiling. Every matter is handled to the standards UK rules require — and the ones our reputation demands.

Respect & fair treatment

Debtors are people. We're firm where needed, but never threatening, misleading or coercive — and we identify vulnerability with care.

Transparency

Clear written fees, plain-English updates, and an itemised account at the end of every matter. No surprises, ever.

Results for clients

We measure success by funds recovered, time saved, and the commercial relationships we help preserve along the way.

Our approach

Firm but fair — and always proportionate.

A methodology designed to recover funds while protecting your reputation and your client relationships.

We start with the facts — the balance, the evidence, the history of the matter, and the commercial context. Only then do we recommend a route.

Debtor contact is professional in tone and proportionate in volume. We document every step, escalate only when justified, and stay inside the practices the UK regulator and the courts expect.

When matters need to escalate to pre-legal action, the courts, or enforcement, we coordinate that route carefully — and keep you informed at each stage.

Frequently asked

What clients ask before instructing us.

Are you regulated?
We operate to FCA CONC standards on every consumer-credit matter, follow the Credit Services Association Code of Practice on industry conduct, and are registered with the Information Commissioner's Office as a data controller under UK GDPR.
How quickly can you act?
Most new instructions are reviewed within one business day. Letters before action are typically issued within 48 hours of confirmed instruction; debtor contact begins immediately after.
Will pursuing the debt damage my client relationship?
Our default tone is professional and proportionate. We discuss the commercial context with you up front and calibrate the approach so the relationship can be preserved where you want it preserved.
What happens to vulnerable debtors?
We screen for vulnerability indicators on every contact and have a documented framework for forbearance, including pausing collections, accepting nominated third parties, and signposting free debt advice through MoneyHelper and StepChange.
Do you handle disputed debts?
Yes. Disputes are triaged, evidence requested from both sides, and we either resolve the dispute or recommend a clear escalation route. We never pursue a debt that lacks a lawful basis.
Can you recover debts from overseas?
Yes — through a vetted international network. We coordinate jurisdiction-appropriate process, multilingual contact and currency-aware remittance, with clear reporting in English.
